How ARL I-Spark Analyzer Work?
The ARL I‑Spark Analyzer works using spark emission spectroscopy (OES) to analyze metals and alloys. A high-voltage spark is generated between the analyzer’s electrode and the metal sample, vaporizing a tiny portion of the surface and exciting its atoms. These excited atoms emit light at characteristic wavelengths, which is captured by a high-resolution optical system. The analyzer’s software measures the intensity of each wavelength to identify and quantify elements from major to trace levels, providing fast, accurate, and reliable results for quality control and alloy verification.

FAQs
It is used for rapid and precise elemental analysis of metals and alloys, from major constituents to trace elements.
It can analyze steel, aluminum, copper, nickel, titanium, and most other metallic alloys.
It uses spark emission spectroscopy (OES), where a spark excites atoms in the metal, and the emitted light is measured to determine elemental composition.
Analysis is completed within seconds, making it ideal for real-time production quality control.
Minimal preparation is needed; the sample surface should be clean and smooth to ensure accurate spark excitation.
It is widely used in steel, aluminum, foundries, metal recycling, automotive, and aerospace industries for alloy verification and quality control.
