How IE200M Metallurgical Microscopes Work?
The IE200M Metallurgical Microscope works by using reflected (incident) light to examine opaque samples like metals, alloys, and ceramics. Light from the built-in Koehler LED illumination is directed onto the sample surface, and the reflected light passes through high-quality plan achromatic objectives to produce a sharp, detailed image. The trinocular head provides comfortable 45° viewing for the eyes and a camera port for digital imaging. A coaxial coarse and fine focus system allows precise control over focus, while the mechanical X-Y stage enables smooth positioning of the sample. Additional filters enhance contrast, making microstructures, grain boundaries, and surface defects clearly visible for analysis and quality control.
